What is FindTxOpps?+
A searchable database of grants and funding opportunities available to Texans — teachers, nonprofits, small businesses, veterans, farmers, artists, communities and more. We gather opportunities from official sources, explain them in plain language, and link you to the official notice to apply.
What does it cost? Do I need an account?+
Nothing, and no. Searching, browsing, filtering and opening official sources are free, with no account required. The only thing you can sign up for is an optional update list about new FindTxOpps features.
Does FindTxOpps award grants or decide who qualifies?+
No. We are a discovery service — we don't award grants, accept applications, or determine eligibility. The funding organization makes every decision. When a listing says an opportunity "may be a match," that's based on the published eligibility language, never a promise that you qualify.
Where does the information come from, and how current is it?+
From official public sources — federal systems like Grants.gov, Texas agency portals, foundations and other funders — collected automatically and refreshed on a regular schedule. Every listing shows its source and links to the official notice. Details can still change between checks, which is why the official source is always the final authority.
What does the "Verified" mark mean?+
That we last checked the listing against its official source on the date shown. It does not mean you're eligible, that funding is guaranteed, or that nothing has changed since — always review the official notice before applying.
How do I apply for a grant I found here?+
Open the listing and click View Official Opportunity. That takes you to the funding organization's own notice, where the real application instructions live. Read the full notice, confirm eligibility and deadlines, then apply through the funder's process. Our Grant basics guides walk through what to expect.
A deadline or amount looks wrong. What do I do?+
Trust the official notice first — it always controls. Then report the listing (topic: "Report a correction") so we can fix it. Corrections get priority.
Can I share a grant that isn't listed?+
Yes, please — use the contact form with the topic "Share a grant with us" and paste a link to the official notice. Funders sharing their own programs are especially welcome.
How do I avoid grant scams?+
Be cautious of anyone who guarantees funding, asks for unexpected payment, or requests sensitive financial information through unverified channels. Apply only through official links, verify organizations independently, and read our scam-spotting guide.
Will FindTxOpps offer more than grants?+
Yes — we're launching with grants so we can do one thing well, and expanding to additional Texas opportunity resources over time. Join the update list on the About page to hear what's next first.
